Rotring: Speziell für die Bearbeitung von hochfesten und gehärteten Stählen bis 68 HRC. Blauring: Besonders geeignet für rost- und säurebe- ständige Stähle sowie Aluminium-Legierungen (langspanend), Kupfer und Kupfer-Legierungen (langspanend). Magentaring: Besonders geeignet für Titan, Sonderlegierungen. Materialien mit einem hohem Nickelgehalt. Weißring: Besonders geeignet für Grauguss, Sphäroguss und Temperguss sowie Aluminium-Legierungen (kurzspanend) und Kupfer-Legierungen (kurz- spanend). Gelbring: Besonders geeignet für weiches Aluminium.
